Marketboomer Deluxe has arrived.
At 05.46 AEST today, after a long and thankfully uneventful night, Brett and Andrew have migrated all data over to the new back-end structure which supports Marketboomer Deluxe, and the servers are back on-line!
Shortly thereafter a host of checks were done on each area, such as reports, orders and fax communications.
Zoe and Andrew logged into MB Deluxe in full production! Circa 05.52
Brett awaits the first fax, confirming that the messaging components are all working as expected. It did arrive (of course!).
Literally the last step in the process was to remotely reboot one of our Servers down at our hosting facility at AC3 to enable the new reports database to update. Of the migration check list on the white board in the Dev Team nerve center, it was the last item to tick off as done.
With MB Deluxe up and running and all looking OK, this step was more a procedural event that anything else. The machine did not come back up. Doh! In a way I am glad as it had all gone almost too smoothly! It meant a call into AC3 and a site visit to rectify the issue. (Andrew is there right now) In the mean time we failed over to another machine.
If that was the worst thing to happen then the team has done very well!
The first user to login to the Classic interface) came at about 0600 when Amici Bakery in Melbourne logged in, oblivious to the marathon that had just occurred between 0000 and 0546! This is the start of the next phase. We will be watching closely to see how this behaves over the next 2 weeks. As with any change this big, I expect some glitches. But given the teams performance to-date it will all be taken in their stride.
Whats next? Once settled in and we are happy, we will migrate the first suppliers, about 20 in total, to the MB Deluxe interface. Once happy with this we will move all Australian suppliers who do not use turnaround invoicing to MB Deluxe. By this stage the first Purchaser focused release should be live and we can start looking at bringing the first Purchasers on line to the Deluxe world.
Exciting times and the product of a lot of very hard work and innovative thinking from lots of the Marketboomer team.
As I like to think, last night was "one small step for Marketboomer Deluxe, a giant leap for Marketboomer" and everyone she touches.
Special thanks to Brett and Andrew for last night and more importantly to the whole Dev and QA team for all the work to make this happen. I am looking forward to the next steps.

OK, if you dont know what that means click here - Eating one's own dog food.
As you may be aware we are currently only 1 week away from the first Marketboomer User Conference for 2008. In the lead up to these exciting events we have been doing our utmost to make sure all our customers are aware of the opportunity to maximise the use of Marketboomer and their membership in the Marketboomer community. We have been running a significant campaign using traditional phone, email and snail mail media to attract delegates which has worked well.
Last week I asked Tony Pizzamiglio and Guido to run a campaign in TellMoreSellMore to all our users where they could place an "order" for a delegate ticket to their chosen User Group session via the customised email generated. I am very happy to say we have had a purchase via this method! It is very exciting to use our own products to do business ourselves. This helps validate our sales pitch and gives us even more conviction that we are doing the right thing for our costomers when we know it works for our business.
Well done to the team for getting to this stage. TellMoreSellMore is simple and makes sense for suppliers to promote their products. We know. Woof woof!

from email...
Chris, Kelly and Stuart
Just wanted to say a very genuine thanks to all three of you for your terrific efforts in Thailand over the last long 8 days. You all gave 1000% and performed superbly under very demanding and testing circumstances. I am very proud to have you on the Marketboomer team and grateful that I had such strong and capable people to represent us with such an important client.
It hasn’t been easy (understatement of the century) but we are now up and running in Thailand and you deserve great credit for putting in the effort required to pull this off in such a short period of time. The next weeks will be critical to keeping up the momentum and the pressure for that falls on Kelly as we move on to the Starwood Middle East deployment.
So lots more hard work ahead but great achievement behind us and hopefully a good foundation for lots more growth in South East Asia and beyond!
Thanks once again for a job very well done.

20 minutes ago I saw the final processing of an order in MB Deluxe after Jon Santos ran through setting up users organisations, price structures, purchase lists and even actual cataloge lines. He created workflows and delivery charge structures, approval processes and user role templates. When the final approved order was recieved by a virtual supplier it represented the milestone which then recieved my final approval to the development teams meeting of a major milestomne in the MB Deluxe project. Thus far I estimate over 6 man years of effort has been applied to this project.
The new functioanlity that Deluxe offers our customers is very exciting and I can not wait to see the reaction to some of the new features and simplicity of the new system.
I would like to personally thank the whole development team for all the hard work in meeting this milestone, as a team. It was not without challenges, particularly given the workload coming from functionality for MB Classic driven by the International initiative. not an easy juggle but you did it!
Special thanks to Brett and Andrew who have managed to keep it togeather and push this last 2 moths to get to this milestone. Cant wait to see the look on the face of the first cutomers we share this with in the next 3-4 weeks!
Thanks all and "Woo Hoo!!!!"

Email just in from Chris Webb.....

............we had a MAJOR presentation to Jumeirah today. Part of the demo was to address their “wish list” of functionality not currently available in their other systems. One of the many items that we were able to show them was using a bar code scanner to do a stocktake and import it directly into our Stock Location. It works a treat and is a really simple slick process. Huge brownie points for us for delivering a great piece of functionality. Thanks guys.
Brett, I’m not sure who specifically from your team worked on this but please pass our thanks on to all the team. At least some of that hard work was rewarded today!

The first live TMSM campaign was sent out by an Australian Supplier yesterday with a fantastic result so far.
A campaign for a product special they had avaialble went out to a sample of 116 of their customers.
Of 116 TMSM mails sent the results within the first 24 hours are:
These are amazing numbers and blow away the normal web marketing rates where you are lucky to have 5% of recipients open an email let alone buy something.
Well done Young for the build, Zoe for testing, Declan for the feedback on the functionality, Basil for supplier intro, and Tony for making the campaign happen. I will even offer myself a small pat on the back this time for making this great little product.
From now suppliers will be able to take advantage of TMSM to improve the benefit they recieve from being in business with Marketboomer by driving more sales.
Tell more, and you'll sell more!!
